Sustentours was born in 2013 out of a wish of combining tourism with sustainable practices. We always believed that tourism could be a tool of conservation and because of that, our tourism operations aim to be in harmony with the natural environment. We acknowledge that is task in constant evolution, and because of that, we search to improve our practices whenever possible. We live in a world where more than ever, is necessary to care about nature, the environment, and our purpose is to reach this objective. ext and edit me. It's easy.
About Your Guide
Guilherme, a professional with international experience, is a tour guide, a bachelor in tourism and a sustainability consultant for the tourism industry.

He has travelled through over 35 countries in five continents and Brazil, lived in Australia for 20 years, is fluent in Portuguese, English, French and Spanish.
​
His academic background, is a Bachelor Degree in Tourism (FACHA – Rio, Brasil) and a Bachelor Degree with Honors in Applied Science - Ecotourism (Griffith University Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia), where he researched and wrote essays about sustainability in the tourism industry of Australia’s Gold Coast (Manual of Best Practices, Gold Coast City Council - WaterWise Project).

In 1997, Guilherme was invited to become the CEO of the international coastal environmental organization Surfrider Foundation in Brazil, implementing environmental and educational programs, including a partnership with the cable TV broadcast SPORTV, reaching six million people daily.
​
He is also a translator and interpreter of the English language, translating several books, documentaries and movies. Amongst them, the book “The Wave Within” from Australian surfing icon, Tom Carroll.

In 2002 he went back to Australia where he worked in the research and production of sustainable events. Amongst them “The Quiksilver Pro” 2006, 2007, 2008, events of the World Surf League (WSL) and Indy Car Racing, Gold Coast Indy 300 (2007) e Nikon Indy 300 (2008). In 2008, he founded Climate Wave Enterprises, a consulting business specialized in sustainability management of events. He was also a consultant for the Global Report Initiative (GRI), international organization which objective is to create a global sustainable economy, providing guidance for sustainability reports, in the development of the latest ISO certificate, the ISO 20121 , for event management.

At the end of 2012, he relocated back to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he works as a tour guide and teaching sustainable tourism.
​
At the 2014 FIFA World CUP, he worked as a coordinator and tour guide, guiding groups to the football games in Brazil and in 2016, worked for COCA-COLA GLOBAL HOSPITALITY TEAM in the RIO 2016 OLYMPIC GAMES, as a host and coordinator of VIP guests. During his time in Brazil he also provided services to IDEIA TOURS, Rio Free Walking Tours and developed his own educational/sustainable tours with schools and groups in Rio de Janeiro through his own company – Sustentours - Sustainable Tourism.
In 2018 he relocates back to Sydney Australia, aiming to work and developing sustainable tourism. Worked for Tour Guide Links, Guides Australia, All Guides, ID Events Australia and the International Academy.
